Neck Pain

How Physiotherapy, Remedial Massage and Exercise can help

Neck pain is incredibly common and can be caused by some of the smallest movement or even no movement at all. It’s an area of the body that is constantly working to keep you head up and stable and it’s no wonder we see so many neck pain issues at our clinic.

Our team of Physiotherapists & Remedial Massage therapists can provide you with the education, information and support you will need to sort out your neck pain. Along with expert Physio treatments and muscle relaxing massages, you’ll be moving better in no time.

Common causes of neck pain can include:

Repetitive activities or prolonged positions: for example, sitting and using a keyboard and mouse for long periods of time can cause stress to build up in the neck and lead to pain.

Overload: this can occur at the gym or with everyday activities. When your upper body muscles fatigue, your body will recruit your neck muscles to compensate. This can cause pain in the muscles around the neck. Overload can also lead to waking with a wry neck.

Whiplash injuries: for example, car accidents can cause a whiplash motion to occur at the neck. This puts stress on the muscles and joints around the neck and can lead to stiffness and pain.

The most common muscles involved in neck pain are the upper trapezius (traps), levator scapula, sternocleidomastoid, scalenes and sub-occipital muscles.

Common conditions we can treat:
cervical spondylitis
occipital neuralgia
trapped nerve
